Our Summer Dance Camp introduces children to an exciting world of creativity, movement, and fun through Bharatanatyam, Carnatic music, Indian folk dance, stories, and yoga. We will be inviting experts to conduct our activities. The week-long workshop is also designed to encourage creativity through the exploration of a theme using arts, crafts, and food. Ages 3 - 5
Monday - Friday, August 26th - 30th

Our youngest dancers will explore different stories from Indian mythologies. The children will use improvisation, basic movement concepts, and basic principals of Bharatanatyam and Indian folk dance to recreate the great stories and the camp will culminate on Friday with a performance for family and friends. The children will design and construct costumes, masks, and scenery to enhance productions. A light snack will be served daily.

Ages 6 - 8

A specially modified dance camp to fit the ability and endurance of young children eager to spend their summer dancing. This camp offers a sampler of Bharatanatyam, Indian Folk Dance, yoga, and elementary exploration into body conditioning and the camp will culminate on Friday with a performance for family and friends. The children will design and construct costumes, masks, and scenery to enhance the productions. The camp will include showcasing a documentary on Bharatnatyam and a field trip to the Metropolitan Museum of arts where we will explore Indian Classical arts through paintings and Bronze statue from different periods. A light snack will be served daily. 

Ages 8 - 15
Monday - Friday, August 26th - 30th

A full day intensive that focuses more on nuanced theory and technique of Bharatanatyam - from understanding the muscles required for proper posture, learning abhinaya, and conditioning through Yoga. Also, we will concentrate on Music and rhythm patterns which they will be learning from experts, and the camp will culminate on Friday with a performance for family and friends. We will also showcase a documentary on Bharatnatyam and a field trip to the  Metropolitan Museum of Art, where we will explore Classical Indian techniques through paintings and Bronze statue from different periods. A light snack will be served.

All activities are held at the Pearl Studios in Midtown Manhattan
 

For all transactions, a 3.5% processing fee will be applied.


Kids have to bring their own lunch. We will only serve light snacks. Please inform us of any allergies prior to the camp.
